Joshua DeSilva, DMCP – President Josh was raised on Maui and has the relationships and key insider knowledge to open the right doors and roll out the red carpet. Josh has worked in the DMC industry for 25 years and in the hospitality business for over 30 years. His passion for and knowledge of the islands is complimented by his dedication to ensuring the success of each and every program. The importance of listening to his customers and delivering on promises is paramount.
Whitney Niemi, CMP – Vice President of Operations Whitney is one of the best in the business here in the islands with over 14 years of experience operating programs. She’s known for her love of checklists and excel spreadsheets. She was raised on Maui and takes great pride in her work.
Lauren Otomo Manuel – Vice President of Sales Born and raised on Maui, Lauren loves to showcase all things that are truly unique to Hawai’i. After almost 10 years at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, Lauren brought her wedding, catering and group sales experience to her role as a Vice President of Sales. Lauren is based on Hawai’i Island and will work with clients throughout the state to help bring their vision of the perfect Hawaiian program to life.
Chloe Jones – Senior Sales & Program Designer Chloe came to DeSilva DMC after 8 years in Los Angeles as a production manager in Reality TV. Having come to Hawaii to film a show on Lana’i, she fell in love with the islands and ultimately made Maui her home. Her ability to work well under pressure and quickly adapt to the fluid world that is destination management has proven to be a great asset to the office and ultimately our customers.
Tracy “TJ” Greig – Director of Operations Meticulous, timely, honest, empathetic, and “on it” – are some of the adjectives that describe TJ. Twenty-five years of hospitality experience has taught her to get the job done right the first time. “Show them what they love to see and keep them wanting more. They’ll be back!” Born and raised here on Maui, she enjoys sharing her “mana’o” (knowledge) and the “olelo” (language) of her Hawaiian ancestry with visitors and clients alike.
January Asbury – Controller January is a native of North Carolina, yet has called Maui her home since 2005. January is passionate in her role at DMC where she handles multiple aspects of human resources, purchasing, accounting, research costing, and onsite preparations.
Karisa Valeho – Operations Manager Karisa was born and raised on the island of O’ahu and resides on Hawai’i Island. She has enjoyed being a part of the Hawai’i hospitality industry for over six years and has worked for iconic properties such as the Fairmont Orchid, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort and Prince Waikiki. Her passion is creating and executing memorable experiences for all who visit the Hawaiian Islands. In Karisa’s free time, she enjoys dancing hula and weight lifting.
Micah ʻĀkau – Account Manager Micah was born, raised and currently lives on the island of Hawaii after being on Oʻahu for 3 years. He has been a part of travel and tourism for over five years and joins the team after assisting Hawai’i Visitors and Convention Bureau and Meet Hawaiʻi where he helped showcase the splendor of the Hawaiian Islands. His passion stems from showcasing Hawaiʻi’s uniqueness and highlighting Hawaiian culture and the infectious aloha spirit. In Micah’s free time, he can be found dancing hula or reading a great fantasy novel.
